Classic tomato sauce. Or as we like to call it, sauce.
If you thought making tomato sauce was tricky, time-consuming, or nonna has a secret ingredient, think again. This 4 ingredient tomato sauce will impress your family and friends and comes together in a jiffy.

Halve and peel your onion.
Add your tomatoes, butter, and halved sweet onion to a heavy bottomed sauce pan. Bring to a simmer smashing the tomatoes as they soften* let simmer for 45 minutes. Salt to taste.
*Use an immersion blender to lightly blend in your tomatoes or place tomatoes in a blender on the lowest speed.
** Level Up by simmering garlic in the bottom of a separate pan before adding to tomato, butter, and onion; by adding oregano in the last few minutes of cooking; and by topping with freshly chopped basil

1/4 cup of butter (4 tablespoons)
1 sweet onion
